Tree planting day was Friday October 28th.
Each tree planted honours special Olympians' talents By JONATHAN SHER, The London Free Press
More than 1,000 special Olympians will come to London next month but their presence is being felt already in what used to be a gravel pit.
Volunteers were to plant 1,426 pine trees Saturday at Ecopark, one for each of the athletes who will compete at the 2010 Special Olympics Canada Summer Games.
The mini-forest is the latest addition to a site in the northeast corner of the city created by the Graham family, which includes notable developer Bill Graham and the recycling company owned by his son, Jim.
Entrance to the Park - is taking shape! Bill Ross and his team have begun work on the extensive remodelling and construction of the entrance to the park. A big thanks to Bill Ross and his committee of help!

Did you know that the average wood duck that can be found at the Eco Park travels a distance of 2000 kilometres per year just to splish splash in our pond?Yup, its true, the Canadian Wood Duck travels at a speed of 11 miles per hour when flying and will return each and every year to his or hers favorite water hole, like the Graham Family Eco Park! Be sure to make room for our feathered traveler when admiring their beauty at the Eco Park. Phew! They must be tired after all that speedy flying!
Q & A. Can you guess who has the nicest reno’d home in the entire Eco Park? Hint: this little fellow has a tail that is over 80 cm’s in diameter and he has his picture on our nickel?
Well the next time you visit the park have a look at the Canadian Beaver’s house over in the far corner of the fishing pond. This little fellow has made his home in the park for over 20 years and is always delighted to have guests both young and old admire his house from a far at the Eco Park.
